Shinmai Kumo is the second restaurant from the Shinmai team in Cary, opening with a soft launch in early September 2025. Our menu centers on Itameshi (イタメシ) — a style of cooking that originated in Japan, blending Japanese ingredients, techniques, and sensibilities with Italian cuisine. The result is thoughtful, playful dishes that feel both familiar and new. Following the success of Shinmai Shokudo, our first location in Cary, Shinmai Kumo continues our commitment to craft, hospitality, and bringing people together around the table — this time with a fresh perspective where Japanese and Italian traditions meet.

Stopped in with my husband for lunch. We had the wasabi fries, sukiyaki linguine, tonkatsu tagliatelle and an ichigo spritz. The food was delicious and the staff made us feel very welcome. The wasabi fries were really the standout here absolutely amazing. We will be back!

My parents and I came here for lunch, and it was great! The food was great, the service was friendly and quick, and the decorations are so cute inside! Also, my non-matcha-enjoying parents liked the strawberry matcha! Everything was great, and we are definitely coming back. 10/10 would recommend!

New restaurant with great food and vibe! I've never had Japanese/Italian fusion before and it eld to some really interesting and delicious flatbread and pasta combinations! The owner is super nice and we will def be back! Don't miss out on the yuzu basque cheesecake.
